Essential Functions:
Conduct orientation on assigned clients: teaching good work habits, proper care of materials/equipment, safety, emergency exits, break/lunch schedules, restroom locations, relationships with co-workers/staff
Assess clients’ abilities, limitations, and skills continuously to monitor and document progress, provide detailed documentation regarding clients’ participation and work skills to Day Program Manager
Assist with client arrivals and departures
Provide continuous and effective job skill training to assigned clients
Prepare work area, weigh, count, box completed work daily and report progress to production control
Ensure products meet quality standards for customers, complete appropriate paperwork
Implement contingency activities when necessary for clients not doing production tasks; contingency activities must be educational in nature and serve to teach or reinforce vocational/life skills
Complete payroll information on assigned clients in a timely manner
Meet daily/weekly production quotas as assigned, prioritize jobs according to the direction of production control
Coordinate and conduct a variety of community inclusion activities with clients
Conduct monthly safety talks and submit paperwork to Safety Manager
Participate in cross-training, learn, and assist with production tasks as needed or as assigned by production control or supervisor
Complete quarterly reviews for clients and daily notes for clients as needed
For clients unable to attend, complete weekly calls and home visits, provide in-home activities
Arrange coverage when absent and provide coverage for other DSP who are absent
Participate in assigned trainings; complete NCI training and CPR/First Aid training within first year (and re-certify annually)
Serve as “first responders” to incidents and medical emergencies, completing incident reports as necessary
General Duties
Meets work deadlines and performance/productivity quotas/requirements on schedule
Works cooperatively with staff, clients, and personnel from other agencies/companies
Sets a good personal example and serves as a positive role model for clients with a positive attitude and cooperation
Follows all agency administrative and personnel policies, procedures, and work rules, and safety regulations
Maintains clean and safe work environment, teaches clients about health and safety
Follows all quality standards/procedures
Assists/performs other duties or special projects/assignments as requested by direct supervisor or other management
Requirements
High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred; 1-2 years’ experience in industrial/human service setting; functional computer skills including Microsoft Office programs; clean driving record
